Get to Know Me

Dr. Rodney Scott straddles the interface between basic and clinical science, enabling him to carry out and lead multidisciplinary research projects, with scientific findings that have major clinical implications. He has expertise in the design of clinically relevant experiments and in translating basic science findings within a clinical framework. He applies these findings in his clinical practice that, over the last 2 decades, has concentrated on the care of children with epilepsy, particularly those with status epilepticus and those with additional cognitive and behavioral impairments.聽

Why I Treat Children

Children with neurological disorders are often vulnerable. Providing high quality care allows these children to make maximal quality of life gains that minimizes these vulnerabilities, thereby enabling their roles in society.

What I'm Passionate About

I am passionate about the management of severe epilepsies, and I emphasize the importance of quality of life, moving beyond the traditional approach of seizure reduction as the most important outcome for these children.聽

How I Try to Make A Difference

I aim to integrate high quality clinical care with cutting edge research to ensure that I am providing the most up to date information to children with neurological diseases and their families.聽
