Get to Know Me
I’ve been caring for children since 1993. I feel it is a privilege to be a pediatrician and to become a part of these families. I am married to a wonderfully supportive husband, Joel, and we have two grown sons. We have been together since 1981 and were high school sweethearts.
Why I Treat Children
I work with children because I come from a huge Chinese family. I am number six of six children. My mom’s family had seven kids and my dad’s family had five. My heart is full when I’m around children. The more the merrier!
What I'm Passionate About
I am passionate about children with special needs, ensuring that parents are supported and their child has all the resources they need to live a full and healthy life. I am also passionate about missionary work and providing care to children both in the United States and overseas who do not have access to medical care. When we’re not at work, my husband loves to cook, and I enjoy spending time with my family and traveling.
How I Try to Make A Difference
I hope to make a difference for each of my patient families through the care I provide and by conveying to them how much I care about them. In addition, I try to complete at least one medical mission trip each year, and I’m passing the torch on to my sons, Tim and Nick. They both have traveled with me — and on their own — on medical trips all over the world. We also volunteered at Mitch Albom’s SAY Detroit clinic for homeless women and children.
